Can NE1 tell me what reference levels ar ...

There is a new addition to the display settings called Reference Levels. I have changed the settings and I didn%26#39;t notice anything different. What exactly does it do?Can NE1 tell me what reference levels ar ...
It%26#39;s basically for people running through VGA, it helps define the darker colors better.  If you%26#39;re not running through VGA, no reason to bother with it really. Can NE1 tell me what reference levels ar ...
I am running through vga, so which setting should I use to define the darker colors better?
I am running through vga, so which setting should I use to define the darker colors better?
Well, maybe I should put that another way.  It helps define color saturation better depending on what type of monitor you use.  Better color saturation helps colors look better, especially dark colors.  You should just experiment for yourself %26 see which works best for you, but maybe try running in Expanded %26 see if it makes your games look better, (it won%26#39;t be a huge difference).
I just tested it on COD2 and there is a definite difference. There is better color saturation, I can tell a little bit in the dash board as well. The black level on my monitor looks improved too. Thanks for the help, I will be running on expanded from now on. I still wish there was support for the native resolution of 1440x900. Oh well, it still looks pretty dang good.
