need a simple co op game

i already have gears of war. i was really disapointed to find out the crackdown doesnt have co op on the same tv. so i need a really simple co op game that i can pick up and play. i was thinking of earth defense force 2017. does anyone have suggestions?need a simple co op game
rainbow 6 vegas has a split screen co-op iam currently playing it just now with my brother it ok but not really jump in and play as each level take while.  I wish to see more split screen co-op games because i love playing them i really enjoyied gears of war the 1st time through.lol.    I think the reason for so little split screen co-op games is because xbox is very centered around xbox live and m$ want more money from you. need a simple co op game

bump. could use more suggestions. maybe some good arcade titles?
Doom. 4 player co-op, very fun.
Guitar Hero II, but that can be expensive.
Marvel Ultimate Alliance and Smash TV are two other co-op games.You can try Halo, but you probably already have that.

EDF 2017 is deffeinetly fun there are 150 different weapons and a ton of enemys and i think 5 difficulties. i got it its really fun
I have to say Rainbow Six: Vegas, or you can always stick with classics and go with Halo 2. :!
Marvel Ultimate Alliance is the best local co-op game especially because you can have 4 players fighting at the same time on 1 screen.  I hate split screen it takes away alot of the fun because you have less space.

I actually enjoyed playing Lego Star Wars co-op.  I got the game as a gift and was a little skeptical, but once we started playing, it was a blast!  The great thing about this game is that it does take alot of time to complete ... you will not be able to finish the game in a few sittings only. I%26#39;m dissapointed there are not many games offering split-screen co-op gameplay.  I was especially disapointed with COD3.  GOW is alot of of fun split screen ... but sadly it seems there is not much support for this mode, except maybe for arcade titles.
